I like that it uses organic cotton canvas with a leather lined mesh, a flexible 6 mm recycled rubber outsole and a removable 3 mm insole. It's worth sizing up half a size, as the brand recommends.

Abstract Chimp currently sells just the fission.01, and the brand says to order a half size up, so I'd do that, especially if you have longer toes or like a bit of room. It's billed as a wide toe box that doesn't taper to a point, so it should suit people who find standard trainers cramped. I couldn't find any independent reviews on fit, so I can't say how it feels over the instep. If you can, check the returns terms before ordering from the UK.
